When I Grow Up

​

I will pay it forward,

And make my parents, teachers, and mentors proud.

For the lessons learned, the wisdom shared,

I will give back, and show others that I care.

In my home, I see siblings,

Their eyes wide open

I will be there for you, I say to myself

To listen, support, and lift your brows.

At school, among friends and peers,

I will be the beacon against all fears.

With empathy as my guiding light,

I will nurture spirits, and inspire them.

In my community, a canvas wide,

I will lend a hand, and stand by their side.

For every child who feels alone,

I will build bridges, and make kindness known.

For mentors once shaped my clay,

Molded my future, showed the way.

Now, as I grow and dreams take flight,

I will be the beacon, burning bright."

With this pledge, my heart beats strong,

A teenager's vow, a hopeful song.

To carry forward the torch of grace,

And in mentoring, find my place.
